Welcome to Wheatland Union High School District

Community Notification - Campus SafetyTop of Page

In light of the recent tragedy in Florida, I feel that the time is appropriate to review with our community what measures Wheatland Union High School District has taken to ensure the safety of our students and employees.  To begin with, the district has an extensive safety plan that addresses emergency situations both natural and man-made.  To date we have conducted fire drills, intruder on campus and natural disaster drills.  These drills simulate the emergency situation and involve all school personnel and students. The goal is to practice the roles that each of us plays in these situations. The administrative team has been through extensive emergency training.

In addition to preparation, we have made improvements to our facility to increase our level of safety.  All windows have been tinted to obstruct the view of the interior of each room. An updated public announcement system has been installed this school year. Our surveillance camera system has been replaced, increasing our capability to monitor our campus. Catapult, a web based communication system, has been implemented district wide. This system alerts staff of dangerous occurrences so that we may quickly manage emergency situations and keep our students safe.

Safety is of the utmost importance to the entire staff.  We know that you entrust your children to us every day with the expectation that they attend a safe learning environment. Please know that the safety of your children is one of our primary goals.  If you have any concerns regarding safety, please do not hesitate to contact me or my staff.  Also, if you be like to be part of the Safety Committee for the 2018-19 school year, please contact me at: (530) 633-3100.

Have Questions?

For Parents

How do I register my child for school?
You may register your child for the current school year at any time. Register at the school's Main Office as soon as residence within the district can be proved. Please visit our Registration page for forms and registration requirements.
When should I keep my sick student home from school?
Do not send children to school if they are sick. Any children who are determined to be sick while at school will be sent home. Keep sick children at home for at least 24 hours after they no longer have fever or have stopped taking medication for fever or flu symptoms.
What are the Common Core State Standards?
Since 2010, a number of states have adopted the same standards for English and math, called the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Having the same standards helps all students get a good education, even if they change schools or move to a different state. Read more at the California Department of Education website.

What is on the lunch menu?
